“Greg Selk is the owner and CEO of Continental Construction & Design Inc. and we have come to depend upon Greg for residential construction projects and advice for the last 15 years, and our past three homes. We recently finished a new home on our farm near Ottawa, KS., and Greg served as project manager over all interior finish work and all trades. He is a very skilled and detailed finish and trim carpenter himself, and adds a high level of quality to any project with his finishing work. Additionally, he will coordinate and oversee the rough-in carpentry, wallboard, plumbing, wiring, mechanical, painting, flooring, and any other specialty work that is required. He has a team of very skilled and dependable subcontractors that he will call in as required as the job progresses. I think the primary value that Greg adds to your project is his integrity and personality. He a committed Christian, and takes his faith seriously. I always felt secure knowing that Greg would be watching out for my best interests in all phases of the work. He is a very open and friendly guy, and he takes the headaches out of any issues that may come up during construction, by serving as the go between with the subcontractors. I would highly recommend Greg for any construction project”.

“Continental Construction and Design did an excellent job of remodeling both bathrooms! The hall bath has 2 sinks, and it was suggested that the once long counter top be divided into 2 vanities that look more like two pieces of furniture with decorative legs. The result is impressive! A neighbor commented that the new bath was beautiful and looked like it had come out of a professional magazine! A privacy wall in front of the toilet was torn out and to our surprise, a vent for the toilet was found sealed up inside. The contractor was able to open up the vent yet have it concealed underneath one of the vanities. The master bath involved tearing through walls to make a walk through to what was once another bedroom, and is now an office (or could serve as a nursery if needed!) The toilet, sink, and shower were all repositioned. New tile flooring was laid. A window was replaced. One door jamb was very much out of plumb, and the floor sank in the middle prior to remodeling. Due to settling, the master bath presented challenges that were overcome by Continental Construction & Design through creativity and experience. Nice clean up work was done at the end of each day.

Prior to the bathroom remodeling, this company had done some exterior remodeling for us that included installing new windows, a storm door, and trim work.

To date, interior work this company has done for us includes:

  • bathroom remodeling from top to bottom
  • drywall replacement and installation
  • new flooring in our mud room and bathrooms
  • new mantle over the fireplace
  • replacing all interior doors
  • adding crown molding in numerous rooms
  • adding insulation where needed
  • installing trim work in an unfinished extra bedroom
.

This company has been in business for over 35 years. Greg Selk, owner, was very pleasant and easy to get along with. When needed, he has a professional team to call upon to get the job done in a timely, reliable, and professional manner. We would most definitely use this provider in the future!”

“Greg built a family room onto our existing house 14 years ago and we still love it as much as the day he completed it. He is extremely creative and had so many ideas for features that made our room really unique, yet it blended perfectly with the rest of the house. Greg has the qualities that you would look for in an excellent contractor – high quality work and dependability – plus he’s a really nice guy! We were so impressed with him and his work that we later asked him to remodel our basement (which also turned out beautifully). We highly recommend Greg!”

“Greg Selk has been our Main Man for more than twenty years now, By that I mean he does everything, and if he doesn’t he finds someone who does, such as a carpet guy or house painter. He has repaired toilets, light fixtures, and built book shelves high-standing and around the wall one foot below the ceiling. He built our decks and has repaired furniture. Most of all, he built my wife’s beautiful office above the Carriage House (high-falutin talk for a three-bay garage). He had great ideas and then carried them out, including a lovely bath and a kitchenette: a person could live there. My wife sees clients in her office and her standards for that environment are really high. Greg’s prices are reasonable and what you would expect from a real professional. He has our highest recommendation.”

“It’s been over 30 years since Greg completed my first project. He designed and installed storage cabinets in the back of my garage. Within the next year, I needed an outdoor storage unit. It had to be portable and durable. The storage unit was built with the quality of a house and consequently after all these years still looks like the day it was completed.

In the early 80’s my house roof was destroyed by a hailstorm. Greg came to the rescue and removed and replaced the roof with a heavy roofing material. Since the installation there has never been any reason to go up on the roof. E.G. No leaks or concerns.

In the late 80’s I wanted to update the front of the house. I came up with the basic idea and with Greg’s help finalized a plan. Grooved paneling was to be installed at angles and larger timber was installed around windows and borders. To accomplish the plan was complicated to fuse all the angles together. The job was done quickly and the joints look like furniture.

Greg has completed other miscellaneous jobs for me, all with honesty and integrity. This is why I have been referring Greg (Continental Construction and Design) to anyone that needs a room, house or remodeling done. My belief is that when you find a source of quality, honesty and integrity it sticks with you and you know that your referral will get the same satisfaction you did.”

“Greg completed a basement finish for us in 2004. Greg performed all of the framing and wood trim and finish carpentry. The subcontractors were all good especially the painter who did a terrific painting and wood finish job. Greg is very talented, creative, honest, does outstanding finish work and is very easy to work with. He is highly recommended.”

“Greg, Your new website looks great! We have really been enjoying the work you’ve done for us. In the winter we spend all our time in the bright, cheery addition and in the summer we virtually live on the screened porch. We can’t thank you enough for your great work.”
